Copper Creations are the ultimate in fun and striking jewelry accessories! Something had to break with the price of silver soaring the last two years, and it is a precious metal. Times often force us to be creative and that is exactly what happened in my studio. These copper creations are not only eye-pleasing but more economical than sterling silver! All are finished with Smart Coat which preserves there beauty with no tarnishing when wearing. The finish is also safe for the skin and has no solvents. The jump rings and ear wires are made from non-tarnish copper wire. I've watched and worn my own copper creations through this hot, muggy summer we've had and they are just as bright as ever.
More than one finish is used. I'm "flame-throwing" some of the copper for eclectic colors with iridescence. Reds, deep purple, gold, blues and greens grace the copper and are permanent. Also I'm using green and blue patinas on some of the jewelry which gives aqua, greens and turquoises, as well as alcohol inks. I guess right now my favorite is the natural copper color with hammering which seems to resemble rose gold.
Copper is worked the same as silver and the tools and techniques are similar. I've combined some sterling silver with the copper for the two-tone look. Forward thinking is bringing me around to gold, brass and copper combos! Should be fun this winter - so keep checking back.

This Copper Starfish with sterling silver ornaments is brushed to a high polish and sealed with smart coat. The little starfish and nautilus (or a sand dollar is available) are sterling silver. It comes on a leather cord with silver tips with choices of 16", 18" or 20". The warm colors of the starfish are similar to rose gold and the sterling silver additions make it just that much more unique. The sealer will keep the jewelry permanently colored for its lifetime. Copper Starfish Earrings
The Starfish Earring are "flame-thrown" copper which gives them an iridescence and reflections of other colors. The pair start as brushed copper and then a torch is applied to achieve the colors. This has to be my currently favorite application. The colors are permanent and sealed with smart coat so the earrings continue to give off light for years. With the warm colors I have used gold-filled ear wires and sterling silver and 14kt gold are also availabel - just email me.
